Abstract

The bulk superconductivity of single-crystal SrSn3, a kagome metal featuring a two-dimensional tin kagome network in each layer, is investigated. SrSn3 single crystals, which crystallize in a centrosymmetric hexagonal structure, are synthesized and characterized. Superconducting properties are evaluated through resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat measurements, confirming anisotropic type-II superconductivity with a critical temperature (Tc) of 5.5 K. The anomalous temperature dependence of Hc2, derived from electrical resistivity measurements, suggests the presence of two-gap superconductivity. Furthermore, specific heat analysis shows that a two-gap model provides a significantly better fit than a single-gap model. Band structure calculations reveal a topological state in SrSn3, indicating its potential as a platform for exploring the interplay between topology and superconductivity.
