Abstract

The zero-temperature energy gap and the critical temperature are evaluated in mean-field approximations of a resonating-valence-bond theory of high-Tc superconductivity. The ratio of energy gap to Tc is found to be small compared to the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer value except for parameters when Tc is very low.
