Abstract
Because of the density-of-states singularity at a Lifshitz point, the Pauli susceptibility should have a strong temperature dependence. The calculated variation is in good agreement with experiment for YBa2Cu3O7−δ. Two models are proposed to explain the very different results in La1.85Sr0.15CuO4−δ.
