Abstract

X-ray precession experiments on X-ray precession experiments on Bi1.75Pb0.25Sr2CaCu2Oy single crystals show that, beside the previously reported incommensurate satellites at q1=δb*+c* and q2=δ2b*, there are reflections at (q1+q2) and (q1-q2). This result shows that lead addition in (2:2:1:2) bismuth compounds can induce, homogeneously in the crystal, a doubly modulated (q1,q2) state corresponding to an intermodulation of the two incommensurate waves with wave vectors q1 and q2. .AE
