Abstract

Recent experimental data suggest that interstitial oxygen may be the common factor responsible for Tc=38 K in both La2CuO4.08 and La1.84Sr0.16CuO4. This remarkable observation is consistent with previous theoretical modeling described as quantum percolation theory. I predict that interstitial oxygen will be observed in the Ca plane of La2−xSrxCaCu2O6 when Tc=60 K but that it will be absent for Tc=0.
