Abstract

We study the effects of dissipation together with quantum fluctuations on the critical behavior of two-dimensional superconducting arrays via the Feynman path-integral formalism and the renormalization-group technique. For weak dissipation, there still exists a reentrant transition induced by quantum fluctuations. Dissipation, however, tends to suppress quantum fluctuations and eventually destroys reentrance. The effects of dissipation in the presence of an external magnetic field are also discussed.
