Abstract

We carry out a numerical analysis of the anomalies reported for the thermal conductivity of the high-Tc superconductors YBa2Cu3O7−x. Assuming the presence of tunneling states and defects, we find that the anomalies can be well accounted for in terms of interactions among the heat carriers, the tunneling states, and the defects. The relative strengths of the various interactions are deduced through a numerical fitting procedure.
