Abstract
The transition temperature for a semi-infinite superconducting superlattice composed of alternating layers with different electron diffusion lengths is calculated in the presence of a homogeneous magnetic field aligned parallel to the layers. The effect of the free surface on the discontinuity in the upper critical field Hc3 that is manifest in such systems, over a certain range of parameters, is examined and the experimental implications of the results obtained are discussed.
