Abstract
The free energy functional for a single vortex in a system of Josephson-coupled superconducting layers is derived in terms of coordinates of two-dimensional vortices, ‘‘pancakes,’’ which make the vortex ‘‘line.’’ The energy consists of equally important two-, three-, and four-pancake interactions.
