Abstract
The magnetic field of a vortex situated parallel to the nearby flat surface of an anisotroptic superconductor, penetrates into the free space (unless the vortex points in a principal crystal direction). This makes feasible the decoration experiment to visualize the direction of vortices beneath the superconducting surface.
