Abstract
Numerical calculations of the magnetic-field distribution p(B) in high-Tc superconductors have been performed for different regimes of the B-T phase diagram to provide a basis for the interpretation of results from muon spin rotation experiments, which measure p(B) directly. Using a Monte Carlo approach, flux-lattice melting was simulated and the corresponding p(B) was obtained. Both above and below the melting transition, we find excellent agreement with the line shapes measured in a recent experiment in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 if in addition the shape of the sample is taken into account.
