Abstract
We present a microscopic derivation of the Ginzburg-Landau free-energy functional starting from a non-Fermi-liquid ground state characterized by a single particle Green’s function scrG0(k,ω) =ωc−α/(iω-εk)1−α. We assume a BCS-like pairing interaction and obtain analytical expressions for the Ginzburg-Landau coefficients a(T) and b as functions of the scaling exponent α. We show how a nonvanishing value of the exponent α (which leads to a breakdown of Fermi-liquid theory in the normal state) yields qualitatively and quantitatively different results in the superconducting state.
