Abstract
Processes in a continuous Josephson medium obtained as a limit of the regular array of Josephson junctions are discussed. The same equations can be derived also either from the Lagrangian or Hamiltonian provided the generalized coordinates are suitably chosen. Moreover, there is proposed a modified model, invariant with respect to the rotation of the coordinate system, which leads to the solitary wave-type vortex solutions of the sine-Bessel equation. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
