Abstract
We show the existence of the “impurity band” that grows to fill the gap (gapless superconductors) in a superconductor described by the van Hove scenario. The effects of electron-classical spin interactions and electron-magnetic (nonmagnetic) impurity interactions were taken into account. The important result is that in a van Hove superconductor the ratio 2Δ0/Ec is the determinant for the appearance of the gapless superconductivity.
