Abstract
The vortex phase diagram in HgBa2CuO4+δ single crystals (Tc=95 K) is investigated using dc-magnetic measurements. The irreversibility magnetic field Hirr(T) decreases exponentially in the temperature range 20<~T<~88 K. At T*≈88 K, the Hirr(T) curve changes slope abruptly and a new mechanism controls the irreversibility up to Tc. Magnetization versus magnetic field measurements (H‖c) show a second peak (increase of the critical current) in the range 5<~T<~50 K. The overall picture resembles the phase diagram of the Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ and YBa2Cu3O7 compounds if one considers the anisotropy ɛ=(m/M)1/2 of HgBa2CuO4+δ, which lies in between the two others.
