Abstract
The effective radius of mesoscopic superconducting samples with axial symmetry (hollow cylinders and rings), whose zero-current contour encloses integer magnetic flux quanta, is studied within the phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau theory. We compare the results of a numerical “exact” solution of the coupled nonlinear Ginzburg-Landau equations with the results of several linearized approaches.
