Abstract

The electronic energy-band structures of ordered Fe2P-type intermetallic superconducting compounds ZrRuX (X=P,As,Si) have been calculated by the full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method within the local-density approximation. The calculated density of states at the Fermi level D(EF) is very close to the experiment. An increase of about 4% in the of Ru-Ru distance in ZrRuP causes a 20% increase in D(EF), which demonstrates the importance of the Ru-Ru distance in the electronic structure of ZrRuX. This is reflected in the electronic structure of ZrRuAs. The calculated D(EF) of ZrRuSi is about one-half that of ZrRuP.
