Abstract
The Josephson effect in superconductor / semiconductor / superconductor junctions is discussed, where semiconductors are in the localization-transport regime. The temperature dependence of the critical Josephson current (Jc) in a single sample is very different from those in other samples. Thus it is impossible to predict the Josephson current in experiments from the ensemble average of the Josephson current in theories. A variety in the temperature-dependence of Jc can be understood by an analysis of the normal conductance near the Fermi energy. In some samples, we find that Jc first increases with decreasing temperatures then decreases in agreement with an recent experiment.
