Abstract
Partly flux-filled superconductor strips shielded by superconductor screens of various geometries are studied using the model of critical state. It is shown that some shielding configurations may lead to substantial transport current enhancements in the flux-free region of the strip where the current amplitude may considerably exceed the pinning-mediated critical current. Total current enhancements may reach several times compared with the complete critical state of an isolated strip.
