Abstract

We first investigate the possibility of coexistence and competition between three orders: d-wave superconductivity, spin, and orbital antiferromagnetism in the vicinity of a single vortex in cuprate superconductors. We find that when the the “d-density-wave” (DDW) order is vanishingly small, the spin-density-wave (SDW) order has an enhancement at the vortex core center. However, when the DDW order becomes dominant, we predict that globally, the SDW order decreases and the DDW order increases; locally, not only the peak of the SDW order around the core still exists, though relatively suppressed, but also a local peak for the DDW order finally appears. The doping dependence of the vortex structure in the presence of DDW order is studied and exhibits similar effects. Comparisons with experiments are discussed.
