Abstract
We study the quantum phase transition between triplet and singlet phases of two-dimensional superconductors. We show that, within the class of unitary pairing states, the transition proceeds via a chiral unitary mixture of the planar triplet state with the singlet state. Thereby, in the mixed phase, the degeneracy between the planar and the axial triplet states is lifted even in absence of spin-orbit interactions or feedback effects. This scenario is illustrated within the t−t′ Hubbard model on the square lattice, in a parameter region which might be relevant to the triplet superconductor Sr2RuO4.
