Abstract

We have systematically investigated the superconductivity of single crystalline Pb nanoribbons grown on Si substrates by using low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy. Superconductivity transition is observed in the nanoribbons with a width ∼10 nm and a thickness of 2.9 nm. By studying the width dependence of the superconducting parameters Tc and Hc2, a dimensional crossover between two dimensions and one dimension is identified.
