Abstract
The effective action is used to study the behavior of a charged gas of spin-0 bosons in a weak inhomogeneous magnetic field at high temperature. If the spatial dimension is at least three the gas is shown to exhibit the Meissner-Oschenfeld effect which can characterize a superconducting state. The penetration depth is computed and compared with the result based on a London analysis.
