SCWiki

Research and agent access

HTML, Markdown and JSON are built from one versioned article record. The read-only API retrieves cited content; it does not generate answers.

Retrieve and cite

  1. Find an article with GET /api/scwiki/v1/search?q=Meissner.
  2. Retrieve GET /api/scwiki/v1/articles/scwiki-a2.
  3. Retrieve a section with GET /api/scwiki/v1/articles/scwiki-a2/sections/mathematical-assumptions, adding ?format=markdown for text.
  4. Keep the article ID, article revision, section ID, source DOI (or source URL when no DOI is known) and experimental conditions with your citation.

Download OpenAPI 3.1 or read the retrieval guide.

Weekly research editions

Past selections preserve the original edition and source-check dates. Retrieve /api/scwiki/v1/research/latest or replace latest with an ISO week such as 2026-W42. Append /markdown for text. The archive is paginated and has its own revision; it updates independently of website releases. Keep snapshotRevision for the original selection and revision for the representation including subsequent notices. Retractions and corrections remain visible alongside the old record. RSS includes editions and notices.

Research library

Research notes and cross-topic analyses form a separate collection. Search their full text with /api/scwiki/v1/library?q=Planckian, retrieve a note at /api/scwiki/v1/library/romero-parallel-conduction, or append /markdown. Every representation retains source versions, review limits and provenance. Notes are not material records and cannot satisfy pressure or transition filters. The homepage searches both collections; the article API search covers core and extension articles only.

Library pagination has its own revision. Collect every library page and compare complete note ID/revision maps separately from the article revision manifest.

Read a complete collection

Article, source, topic and search lists are paginated. Start with ?limit=20 and follow the relative URL in page.next until it is null. The maximum is 50 records and 256 KiB per page, so a page can contain fewer records than requested. total counts the whole result set, while page.returned counts this page. Keep the same filters and page size. A 409 response means the catalogue changed: restart from the first page. Do not combine pages from different revisions.

Choose fields

Use /api/scwiki/v1/articles?fields=title for a compact list, or add the same parameter to an article JSON URL. Request comma-separated top-level fields. Identity, revision, title, update date, review and provenance remain attached. Requesting scientific content such as summary, body, claims or materialCases also includes the claims, references, material conditions and corrections needed to interpret it. Individual conditions cannot be stripped out with nested field selection. Omitting fields keeps the default representation.

Discover changes

Read /api/scwiki/v1/revisions and follow every page.next to build a complete map of article IDs and revisions. Every page must share the same catalogue revision. Compare that map with your previous complete map: new IDs were added, changed article revisions need refreshing, and IDs absent from the complete new map were removed. Save the new map only after all pages succeed. Never infer removal from one page or a failed request. A 409 requires restarting the snapshot. This endpoint describes the current inventory; it is not a historical event log or an archive of old article text.

Cache and handle errors

Keep X-SCWiki-Revision for the editorial version and the separate ETag for each exact response. Send its tag in If-None-Match; a 304 response reuses your cached representation without downloading a body. JSON and Markdown have different tags. Error responses are not cacheable and contain an English error and stable code. Only GET, HEAD and OPTIONS are supported; write methods return 405 with an Allow header. Individual responses are limited to 1 MiB; retrieve sections if a full article exceeds that limit.

Separate preparation from measurement

Optional materialCases[].preparation records describe pressure quenching before a measurement. They retain preparation pressure, temperature, release rate, source and limitations. The pressure filter and the main record still describe the measurement conditions. A sample prepared at high pressure can later be measured at ambient pressure. An unknown release rate stays null; it does not mean zero. Preparation temperature is not a critical temperature.

Compare one report at a time

Search supports pressure=ambient, equilibrium=equilibrium, criterion=zero-resistance and tcMin=70. All conditions must match one material record. Missing fields are unknown and do not satisfy an explicit condition. A spectroscopic gap temperature is not a zero-resistance critical temperature.

Interpret review labels

Experiment, theory, prediction and hypothesis label scientific evidence. Some stored claims retain experimental, the legacy spelling of experiment; it does not indicate stronger verification. API contract 1.4 also allows editorial-analysis for claim-level comparisons and explanations of evidence limits. It is not a new experiment or a material prediction, and is not accepted as a material record type or search evidence filter. Clients using a closed claim enum should update it from the current OpenAPI schema. Source publication status is separate from editorial checks. Metadata verification confirms bibliographic identity; it does not verify a result. The visible review scope records primary-source access and limitations.

Claim source IDs can identify context as well as direct support. Where present, sourceRelationship distinguishes direct support, context for a local derivation, context for editorial analysis, or a mixture of source passages and local derivation; derivationNote explains the boundary. An absent relationship has not yet been classified. A local equation check does not validate experimental data.

Reuse responsibly

Use source publications as scientific evidence. Quote only what they support and retain disagreement and uncertainty. Remaining source chapters and internal audit notes are not published as articles in this pilot. This work does not write to the existing literature RAG or materials catalogue.
