Abstract

The superconducting transition-temperature (Tc) relaxation behavior of Zr70Cu30 Metglas upon annealing at pressures up to 2.5 GPa is investigated. Our results show that although compression generally retards the relaxation process, it also oppositely influences atomic activation processes in Tc relaxation at the lower and higher sides of an appropriate pressure. A homogenization in amorphous structure induced by this pressure is suggested to be responsible for the above behavior.
