Abstract
I show that the superconducting phase transition in Y-Ba-Cu-O is describable by the theory of critical exponents. Using measurements on the temperature dependence of the specific heat and susceptability and assuming the dimensionality, I determine all of the critical thermodynamic and static correlation exponents. Two unsuspected symmetries are found. Predictions concerning the magnetic field dependence of the specific heat are consistent with existing measurements. Further predictions concerning the magnetic field dependence of the magnetization and the susceptability are made. The results for dimensionality equal to three are in agreement with BCS theory.
