Abstract
This paper treats magnetic response of the superconducting Balian-Werthamer (BW) state with large paramagnetic susceptibility χ. The perturbed Hamiltonian is so constructed as to include supercurrent-supercurrent, supercurrent-dipole, and dipole-dipole interactions. For this system, the response kernel Ktot(q) with wave vector q is calculated, with due care taken of the q component of the pair amplitudes from the dipole interactions, as well as the pairing potential. It is found that the equation q2+Ktot(q)=0 has a positive solution qc for some range of χ and temperatures. This is due to the resonance between the above two pair amplitudes and indicates that a spatially varying magnetic field can penetrate into the BW state. As a possible equilibrium state, an antiferromagnetic vortex lattice is proposed.
