Abstract

The effects of small doping on the interactions involved in the superconducting transition for the spin-bag mechanism are studied within the random-phase approximation. We find a low-energy peak in the effective attractive interaction between pairing quasiparticles. We elucidate the effects of retardation which derive from this peak. Eliashberg-like equations are derived for the self-energy functions of superconducting quasiparticles. We find that for a fairly large range of model parameters this low-energy peak can have a substantial influence upon the gap equation. We also find that the interaction which produces superconductivity is itself altered by the opening up of a superconducting energy gap, becoming stronger in the presence of the gap.
