Abstract

We discuss the use of the muon-spin-relaxation (μ+SR) technique in studying the flux lines in superconductors. We argue that their dynamics may be studied if the thermal energies are sufficiently large compared to the vortex-lattice stiffness and pinning. In this context, we analyze a recent set of μ+SR data taken on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ. The data indicate flux motion below Tc. The consequences of the disorder in the flux-line configuration are also discussed.
