Abstract
We present a study of the effect of nonmagnetic impurities on the electronic thermal conductivity in a two-dimensional superconductor. We restrict our attention to two types of d-wave order parameters, which are compatible with square-lattice symmetry. The calculation is done in two limiting cases of the quasiparticle impurity scattering, namely, the Born approximation and the unitarity limit. We find that the unitarity-limit result is, qualitatively speaking, closer to available experimental results in cuprate superconductors.
