Abstract

Transport data on K3 C60 prepared with different amounts of disorder are presented, indicating that as the disorder is increased the material undergoes a superconductor-insulator transition, a result which does not occur in conventional wide-band metals. We speculate that this behavior is a consequence of the narrow conduction band and low electron density in K3 C60 , which gives rise to an extreme sensitivity to disorder and correlation effects.
