Abstract
The penetration of ac fields into anisotropic layered superconductors is examined in terms of the intrinsic Josephson effect. We show that in responding to a transverse external field, such a system exhibits a resonance behavior, which depends on the order parameter symmetry and on the phase difference of petals of the anisotropic order parameter in adjacent layers as well. The resonance mode is established by the balance between different components of the total ac current and determines the penetration of the field into the system.
