Abstract
We consider an annular array of superconductors in the presence of a threading flux and a perpendicular magnetic field, and examine the frustration effects on the supercurrent. When the flux per plaquette in units of the flux quantum is given by a rational number, the supercurrent driven by the threading flux may display fractional periodicity, depending on the number of sites along the circumference. In particular, it is pointed out that the irrational frustration makes the supercurrent vanishingly small.
