Abstract

The Josephson plasma resonance (JPR) in the mixed state of layered high-temperature and organic superconductors has received much attention in the last few years. An investigation by Koshelev and Bulaevskii [Phys. Rev. B 60, R3743 (1999)] showed how the JPR absorption could be obtained in the case of weak damping in the vortex liquid state. Here it is shown how the JPR lineshape for reduced frequencies ζ>1 can be much more easily obtained numerically. Based upon the self-consistent Born approximation, and assuming low temperatures, additional analytic results for the appropriate scaling functions are obtained. Other aspects of the scaling parameter ζ are discussed.
