Abstract

Including Fermi surface anisotropy in addition to the anisotropy of pairing states, we recalculate the angular dependence of the upper critical field Hc2(θ) intending to explain its in-plane anisotropy for the high-temperature superconductors. The results show that two anisotropies arising from different origins compete and the angular dependence of the fourfold symmetry for Hc2(θ) is not unique for all the high-temperature superconductors.
