Abstract
This work is concerned with an extension of the fractional-dimensional scheme to the study of superconductivity. We show that quasi-two-dimensional layered structure of the high-temperature superconductors can be described as a system for which both spatial and spectral dimensions have nonintegral values. We derive a general formula for critical temperature as a function of spectral dimension α, which for layered structures can vary within the 1<α<4 range. We show that for α>3 there is an enhancement (when compared to the three-dimensional superconductor) of critical temperature up to the maximum determined by the pairing mechanism.
