Abstract
A phenomenological theory of the reversible magnetization of MgB2 is presented and compared to experimental data. It is based on Ginzburg-Landau theory, but introduces magnetic field-dependent parameters. This field dependence is a natural consequence of the two band nature of MgB2 and accounts for the varying contribution of the π band. The model describes the experimental data with one (field-dependent) anisotropy parameter for the penetration depth and for the coherence length.
