Abstract

The normal-state in-plane resistivity ρab and out-of-plane resistivity ρc are measured in La-doped Bi2Sr2CuOy (Tc≃13K) by suppressing superconductivity with 61 T pulsed magnetic fields. In the sample with the smallest ρab ( 130μΩcm at 100 K), metallic ρab coexists with “semiconducting” ρc down to the lowest experimental temperature, 0.66 K (T/Tc=0.05), evidencing the non-Fermi-liquid nature of Bi2Sr2CuOy.
