Abstract
The dynamics of an Abrikosov vortex and the vortex lattice in a type-II superconductor with weak defects is studied taking into account both inertial and gyroscopic (Hall) properties. The spectrum of normal modes of vortices has two branches. It is shown that due to the interaction between defects and a moving vortex the excitation of these normal mode oscillations occurs. This leads to the appearance of an additional channel of the vortex retardation. In the case of a single vortex the corresponding friction force diverges at V→0 as V−1/2; i.e., in the limit of small velocities it prevails over the regular (bare) viscous friction force.
